Conflict triggers "major disruptions" in Port of Gothenburg

Port of Gothenburg was able to increase its combined cargo volume by close to three million tons in 2016, but the conflict between the Swedish port workers and APM Terminals contributed to declining container throughput and led to "major disruptions."

Scandinavia's biggest port, Gothenburg, finished 2016 with an overall increase in freight volumes, though the labor conflict between APM Terminals and the Swedish port workers contributed to a lower container throughput, according to a press release from Port of Gothenburg.
