DSV makes billion dollar acquisition offer on Panalpina

Danish transport and logistics group DSV has made a bid to acquire competitor Panalpina, says the Swiss-based company.

DSV is now pursuing a new acquisition, as the Danish transport and logistics company has submitted a takeover bid on Swiss-based competitor Panalpina, says the company in a brief statement Wednesday morning.

According to the statement, the Danish logistics and transport group has made "an indicative and private proposal to Panalpina's board of directors to acquire Panalpina," at a price of CHF 170 (USD 172) per share in a transaction that would consist of a mix cash and shares in DSV. This corresponds to a combined takeover price of CHF 4 billion.
