Bank DNB eyes improvements for shipping customers

In the fourth quarter, Norwegian bank DNB was able to reverse previously booked impairments on shipping, according to the annual report. "The macro drivers for the shipping portfolio were stable in the fourth quarter," writes the bank.

There were signs of improvement among several of DNB's customers in the shipping sector toward the end of 2018. And the Norwegian bank was thus able to reverse previously impaired loans made to the sector, shows the report for 2018, published Thursday.

DNB says in the report that was able to reverse impairments for NOK 147 million (USD 17.1 million) in the shipping portfolio.
