Logistics majors DSV and Agility are both vying to get Global Head of Ocean Freight Peder Winther as colleague in the hectic acquisition rally surrounding his new employer Panalpina. He will focus in particularly on boosting earnings, he says in an interview with ShippingWatch.

When 55-year-old Peder Winther takes on a new executive job, there is one thing he always does first.

He gathers his closest colleagues and "locks" them in a room for three to four work days, where they together review the business. The purpose is to get wiser about what is done right, and where improvements are needed. And when the days are over, everything is put in writing, so that there is a plan to work from.
