British ferry giant challenging DFDS in Gothenburg

P&O Ferries and Swedish SOL Continent to launch a new service between Gothenburg and Great Britain, placing it in competition with one of DFDS' most lucrative businesses.

DFDS will get a new competitor in RoRo traffic from Gothenburg to Great Britain, which has historically been one of the most profitable routes for the Danish shipping and logistics company.

British P&O Ferries has teamed up with Swedish company SOL Continent Line for a new service between Gothenburg and the British ports of Tillbury and Teesport, according to a press release from the Port of Gothenburg.
