MOL and Vale in collaboration to develop rotor sails

Sustainable propulsion from rotor sails will help to reduce CO2 emissions from a large dry bulk vessel at Brazilian mining company Vale. The installation of the rotor sails is a study carried out in collaboration with Japanese MOL.

Japanese Mitsuit O.S.K. Lines (MOL) has entered a collaboration with Brazilian mining company Vale International to conduct a joint study on the installation of rotor sails on a 200,000 tonnes dry bulk vessel freighting iron ore for steel production, reports MOL in a press release.
