Cargill earned less money – but the carrier made gains

Trader Cargill booked lower earnings in the second quarter of the fiscal year 2018. Trade with soy beans and grain was weak, while the group's dry bulk fleet saw improved performance.

Major US trader Cargill saw earnings decline although the carrier performed better.

The group, which among other things trades grains and soy beans, but also has one of the world's largest dry bulk fleets, released its Q2 report this Wednesday for the fiscal year 2018. The report shows earnings of USD 948 million, a decline of eight percent.
