Looking over Martin Fruergaard's CV leads one to think that his record in and of itself should have convinced the Pacific Basin board of directors that he is the right man to take over as the company's next CEO.
He belongs to a generation of executives who in their teenage years in the 80s began their professional lives as trainees at Maersk Group, before working their way up through shipping, where they now occupy leading positions around the world. Maersk's current CEO Søren Skou is another strong example of this.
