Container rates set new record for 14th week straight

The spot rates for container freight out of Shanghai set a record for the 14th consecutive week, according to the rate index SCFI.

The spot rates for container freight continue to soar, setting a record the 14th week straight, according to the rate index Shanghai Containerized Freight Index (SCFI), which measures spot prices for container freight from Shanghai to a slew of destinations worldwide.

This past week, the index rose by 1.3 percent to 4281,53.
