More old multipurpise vessels are set to be scrapped

As rates for multipurpose vessels have fallen by 39 percent since July 2022, owners send more old ships for scrapping, according to Drewry.

Declining rates for the multipurpose fleet since 2022 are now also causing more owners to send the most elderly part of the fleet for scrapping, Drewry writes in an analysis of the market for multipurpose vessels (MPVs).
