Maersk and MSC could benefit from South Korea's state subsidies

The world's two biggest liner companies, Maersk Line and MSC, could in practice benefit from South Korea's massive state aid to carrier Hyundai Merchant Marine, says shipping analyst Lars Jensen.

South Korea's large-scale state aid for newbuilds, and thus for liner company Hyundai Merchant Marine (HMM), could become a financial benefit for Maersk Line and its partner in the 2M alliance, Swiss MSC.
