Maersk Container Industry suffered heavy losses after factory closing

As expected, the closing of a factory in Chile has been costly, shows the annual report from MCI's Danish affiliate. It was the new CEO Sean Fitzgerald who closed the factory shortly after his arrival in 2018.

The closing of a factory in Chile has, as expected, been costly for Maersk Container Industry (MCI), which in 2018 booked a deficit of almost DKK 1 billion (USD 150 million), according to the annual report published by the container producers Danish affiliate MCI A/S.
