Clarksons after Maersk upgrade: No sign of better container market

Maersk expects to increase its earnings this year, but according to shipbroker Clarksons Platou, this is not due to improvements on the container market. The broker provides a guess as to what Maersk's next move will be.

Maersk's upgrade of its full-year guidance should not be seen as pointing to a stronger container market, according to shipbroker Clarksons Platou.

Instead, the brokerage sees the higher expectations for 2019 as a result of the container line's improved ability to fill up its vessels.
