Maersk to test battery on small container vessel

Its long-term climate plan for 2050 now prompts A.P. Møller-Maersk to install a battery on board a smaller container vessel. This is one of several initiatives in the field recently set in motion by the company.

One of A.P. Møller-Maersk's container ships will very soon be sailing with a battery on board, if things go as planned.

Come December, the shipping company will install a battery system of 600 kWh aboard small container ship Maersk Cape Town, which sails between West Africa and East Asia.
