Container rates soar ahead of 2020

Container rates increased 9 percent last week, show data from the SCFI. Jefferies says scrubber retrofits and new bunker surcharges inflate rates, while SeaIntelligence Consulting CEO Lars Jensen mainly sees effects tied to preparations up to 2020.
