Few years from now 1,000 container ships could be fitted with scrubbers

Container ships accounting for more than one tenth of capacity measured in teu will have a scrubber installed by early next year when the new sulfur regulations have come into force, projects Alphaliner. The number could rise significantly in the next Few years.

With a few weeks left before the new sulfur regulations come into force, the container shipping companies are busy installing scrubbers on a significant part of the fleet in order to ensure compliance with the new rules.
