CMA CGM's divestments give the Chinese access to strategic ports

Chinese Merchants Port looks set to get access to the most interesting ports in CMA CGM's portfolio with the recent agreement signed by the two companies. According to Alphaliner, this leaves the French company with the ports that are not particularly attractive.

The sale of a series of CMA CGM's port activities gives China Merchants Port, CMP, stakes in the most attractive assets in the French liner company's port portfolio, writes Alphaliner in its latest newsletter.

The analyst firm takes a closer look at the transaction that was announced in late November and confirmed by the two parties ahead of Christmas.
