Coronavirus creates significant uncertainty about Maersk's 2020 forecast

A.P. Møller-Maersk's expectations for 2020 are significantly impacted by the coronavirus outbreak, and February and March will likely be weak. After this, however, demand may see a "sharp" rebound, according to CEO Søren Skou. Updated.

The coronavirus outbreak that has created a lot of uncertainty in the shipping sector will also have a significant impact on A.P. Moeller-Maersk's outlook for 2020, as the company expects a weak start to the year.

This is evident form the financial report for the fourth quarter and 2019 as a whole, in which Maersk writes that the virus outbreak has lowered visibility significantly in terms of what can be expected for the year.
