The coronavirus is hitting the US hard right now. From New York, Hapag-Lloyd's president for the US, Uffe Østergaard, explains how the shipping company handles uncertainty among its employees, but also how the crisis has made them talk of a different work life.

When Hapag-Lloyd's president for North America, Uffe Østergaard, recently hosted a town hall meeting for the shipping line's 1,200 employees in the US and Canada, not much was as usual.

The US is now the country in the world hit hardest by the corona pandemic, and infections are spreading for each passing day. At least 4,600 people in the US have died from coronavirus, and the state of New York is hit particularly hard, as more than 1,000 people have died from the virus.
