No normal seasonal fluctuations in container spot rates this year

2020 brought both the coronavirus pandemic and a boom container rates and volumes. But these developments have affected the normal seasonal fluctuations, writes Sea-Intelligence, which has analyzed data from the past ten years.

If shippers hope for more normalized conditions in the overheated container market from the turn of the year rather than continued bottle necks, rate booms and growing volumes, they are going to be sorely disappointed.
