2020's weak spring in the container market could be recovered in strong final stretch

If the current rally in the container market continues in December, combined demand for 2020 as a whole will approach the level of 2019 despite the big slide in the spring, reports Sea-Intelligence.

Even though demand for container freight took a big dive in the spring when the coronavirus pandemic shut the world down, the overall demand for 2020 is close to being on par with 2019, reports Sea-Intelligence.

In November alone, demand for container freight increased by 8 percent compared to the same month last year. This is the highest growth since 2013, and it strongly illustrates the recovery the container market experienced in the second half of the year.
