German Hapag-Lloyd becomes the first major container line to report preliminary results for 2020, which was a wholly unusual year due to the worldwide coronavirus epidemic.

The company achieved an operating profit, EBITDA, of around USD 3 billion, which was "significantly above" last year and came despite the pandemic, writes the company in the preliminary financial report.
