Hapag-Lloyd bags financing for six new container ships

Container line Hapag-Lloyd has secured two agreements for financing the company's investment in six new megamaxes, to be built in the coming years.

German container line Hapag-Lloyd just secured financing for six container newbuilds that the company put in an order for in December, totaling an investment of nearly USD 1 billion.

The financing includes a USD 417 million syndicated loan as well as lease financing totaling USD 472 million. Both loans are the company's first ones to fulfill the Green Loan Principles from Loan Market Association, informs Hapag-Lloyd in a press release.
