Container rates dropped for fifth week in a row

Container freight prices continue downward trajectory in 2022, and spot rates have now dived for the fifth week in a row from the record level in the year’s first week.

Rate index Shanghai Containerized Freight Index (SCFI), which measures spot prices on container freight from Shanghai to a series of global destinations, has decreased by 0.7 percent to 4,946.01 throughout the week after a dive of 0.6 percent the week before.
