It has become significantly more expensive for carriers to transport a container from A to B during the last two years, and that is especially due to two expense items, writes Sea-Intelligence, which has examined the development through one specific carrier.

Carrier earnings have been at a historically high level from mid-2020 to early 2022, but in parallel to the enormous profits, it has also gotten markedly more expensive for shipping companies to transport a container from A to B.
