Spot prices on global container freight have decreased for the seventh consecutive week.

This week, the Shanghai Containerized Freight Index (SCFI), which measures spot prices on box freight from Shanghai to a number of global destinations, has declined by 2.9 percent to 946.68 points.

With the recent development, the SCFI is now 80.4 percent below the level a year ago. The current level is the lowest since early June 2020.

The index peaked in early 2022 at 5,109.6.
