FMC chair accuses carriers of using fees to take advantage of customers

Hundreds of complaints were filed with the US maritime authorities last year over fees, which carriers have used to increase their earnings, argues FMC chair.

Carriers have charged extra fees from customers in order to increase profits parallel to the already elevated freight rates during last year, states the US Federal Maritime Commission (FMC).
