German shipowners fear supply chain disruption without block exemption

Carriers will become less efficient if they cannot cooperate as smoothly once the EU abolishes the competition exemption , warns VDR.

The repeal of the exemption of carriers from EU competition rules could create friction and inefficiencies in global supply chains, warns the German shipowners’ association, Verband Deutscher Reeder (VDR).
