First container line unveils its upcoming emissions fee

Evergreen has decided how much customers will have to pay for the cost of CO2 allowances from Jan. 1.

Taiwan’s Evergreen Marine Corp seems to be the first container shipping company to have settled on how much customers will pay under the upcoming EU Emissions Trading System, ETS, that will be introduced for European shipping from 2024.
