Operating margins among carriers are now averaging below pre-Covid levels

Five of the world’s largest container lines reported a positive operating margin in the third quarter, while four were in the red, according to Alphaliner.

The container majors saw their results nosedive in the third quarter compared to last year, when demand was still strong.
