The world's largest container lines avert ships from Yemen

With the latest announcement from HMM, the majority of the world’s leading liner shipping companies have now dropped shipping in the Red Sea, where Houthi rebels are attacking merchant ships.

Houthi rebel attacks on ships in Yemeni waters are plunging the container market into the biggest short-term upheaval since the ship Ever Given blocked the Suez Canal for a week in 2021.
