Crisis could cost liner companies upwards of USD 72m a day

The additional costs for container carriers that normally operate in the Red Sea fall somewhere between USD 4-72m per day, according to Sea-intelligence.

It is difficult to estimate the exact cost in dollars and cents when container shipping companies have to make the long detour around the Cape of Good Hope on the southern coast of Africa.
