Hamburg Süd and UASC form global collaboration

Hamburg Süd and United Arab Shipping Company have entered a global cooperation agreement, according to a joint statement from the two container carriers. (being updated)

The two container carriers Hamburg Süd and Dubai-based United Arab Shipping Company (UASC) form the latest instance of the numerous new container alliances announced these days by major players in the segment.

Following several meetings and discussions, the two parties have signed a global cooperation agreement concerning several of the carriers' key routes, according to a joint statement. The decision to form a collaboration is attributed to factors such as the current imbalance in the container market, the carrier say. The move also gives UASC access to new markets:
