SeaIntel: 2M beats rivals from key Chinese port

Analyst agency SeaIntel has studied transit times from the four future container alliances. The results include the fact that Maersk Line and MSC are the only carriers offering direct services between a key Chinese port and Scandinavia.

Maersk Line and MSC's planned 2M alliance will enable the carriers to offer shippers the highest number of options in port-to-port combinations from the key Chinese port Guangzhou and the so-called Pearl River region to Northern Europe. 2M will also be the only alliance offering direct port-to-port combinations from this Chinese region to Gdansk, Gothenburg and Aarhus, according to a study of the four alliances' transit times performed by SeaIntel Maritime Analysis.
