Hamburg Süd retakes first place in reliability

The German container carrier Hamburg Süd was the most reliable carrier in February this year, shows an analysis from SeaIntel. CSAV and Maersk Line ranked the following two spots.

Hamburg Süd retook the the spot as the most reliable container carrier for February this year with a timeliness of 86.2 percent in February. A spot, which the carrier has also held the last two years for February. In general, reliability has increased for the world's 20 largest container shipowners in February, according to a review from analyst agency SeaIntel.

"The improvement in global schedule reliability was clearly reflected among the Top20 carriers as 19 carriers recorded an increase in performance from January to February, with K Line being the only exception. For the first time since February 2014 we see that Hamburg Süd is back on the top spot, although this does not come as a significant surprise as this has been the case for the German carrier in February of the past two years," says Morten Berg Thomsen, shipping analyst, in the analysis.
