Shippers: New weight surcharges unacceptable

The new container weight rules which entered into force on July 1st 2016 mean that all containers will be weighed under a new VGM system. Global Shippers Forum calls for unjustified charges introduced alongside the new regime to be withdrawn immediately.

The new regulations for weighing containers, SOLAS, came into force on July 1st 2016 and mean that all containers must now be weighed under a new system known as VGM, for verified gross mass.
