Wan Hai stands as small bright spot in container market

As one of just a few container carriers, Wan Hai delivered a positive bottom line for the second quarter 2016. The Taiwan-based company's result did however decline 77 percent compared to last year.

A slow global economy and far too many ships have sent the global container market into its worst crisis since 2009, but not all carriers are hit equally hard.

While most players in the sector are struggling with deficits, Taiwan-based Wan Hai stands as a small bright spot at challenging time for the segment.
