Despite recent indicators of improvement in the container industry, a recovery still likely remains three years into the future and will, at best, still not reach previous levels.

Even from the most optimistic perspective, a market recovery for container still lies three years into the future, and by that time, the industry will likely only see a structural balance between the size of the global fleet and freight volumes needing to be transported – even if the current record-high levels of container vessels being scrapped are sustained in the years to come, projects SeaIntel in an analysis.
