Old rule impedes Maersk's plans for re-flagging

Maersk Line has examined the possibility of re-flagging part of Hamburg Süd's fleet of 48 owned container ships. The plan was for some of the vessels to be flagged in Denmark, but an old rule might obstruct this intention.

Maersk Line has investigated the opportunities for re-flagging some of Hamburg Süd's fleet when the acquisition of the German carrier has been finalized, several sources from the Danish maritime cluster with knowledge of the matter tell ShippingWatch.
