Odfjell ship behind large oil spill in Port of Rotterdam

A tanker ship from Odfjell on Saturday has its hull punctured after colliding with the jetty in Rotterdam, resulting in a significant oil spill in the port. The clean-up could take days if not weeks, the port tells Reuters.

A ship from Norwegian Odfjell has, over the weekend, spilled oil in the Port of Rotterdam after the hull was punktured Saturday, reports Reuters.

The incident has resulted in the spill of "a considerable" amount of heavy fuel oil, writes the news agency, while Odfjell in a statement informs that around 217 tons of heavy fuel oil was spilled.
