Golar LNG expects better rates after large profit

The third quarter 2018 showed significant improvements for the gas shipping company compared to a deficit in the same period last year. Clarksons Platou has a positive view on the company's projections for the fourth quarter.

Tanker shipping company Golar LNG, which transports liquefied natural gas, finished the third quarter 2018 in significantly stronger form than was the case in the same period last year.

The bottom line was positive with a net profit of USD 66.2 million for the third quarter, according to the interim report. At the same time last year, this item came to a deficit of USD 43.9 million, while the company's operating result was also negative.
