USTC-owner eyes no sign of improvements in tanker

The upticks in the tanker market have yet to reach the smaller ships where USTC's Uni-Tankers operates, explains owner Torben Østergaard-Nielsen. He expects improvements in 2019, where challenges in the bunker sector also create opportunities.

The strained tanker market in particular has in recent times been occupying the mind of Torben Østergaard-Nielsen, owner the USTC group.

The tanker market in 2018 was under severe pressure from competition, low rates and towering oil prices, and this has been felt at product tanker ship operator Uni-Tankers, part of USTC.
