Confidential contract pulls Torm into bribery case in Brazil

A confidential contract obtained by a Danish newspaper shows that tanker operator Torm has also paid an agent under suspicion in a corruption case in Brazil. Torm confirms the contract.

Tanker operator Torm also paid an agent in Brazil under suspicion of having helped Maersk bribe its way to contracts with oil company Petrobras.

Danish newspaper Berlingske Business has gained possession of a confidential contract which shows that Torm cooperated with agent Wanderley Gandra and his company Gandra Brokerage when the tanker company chartered its vessel Torm Signe to Petrobras in the period 2006-2009.
