Bimco: 500 days since last scrapping of a supertanker
According to Bimco, Monday will mark 500 days since a VLCC was last taken out of service and sold as scrap. This is even though rates have recently gone down following the boom in the spring. "Shipowners are die-hard optimistic people," says analyst.
