Torm satisfied with USD 90 million scrubber investment despite oil price drop

Despite a major decline in oil prices, it is still good business for Torm to have more than half its ships equipped with scrubbers. The carrier has invested approximately USD 90 million in the technology.

The financial gains have become markedly smaller and the payback period several years longer.

Still, tanker shipping company Torm is highly satisfied with having spent around USD 90 million on installing exhaust-cleaning systems on 44 product tankers.
