Euronav board responds to major shareholder's criticism of merger plans

CMB, owned by the Saverys family, is working to prevent the announced merger between Belgian Euronav and Norwegian Frontline. Euronav’s board maintains that the proposed merger is ”in the interest of all shareholders.”

The board of listed crude oil tanker carrier Euronav is now taking strong action against major shareholder Alexander Saverys and family company CMB, which are trying to thwart the large-scale merger of Euronav and Frontline announced last week.
