Teekay Tankers books profit after long period of decline

A difficult period for tanker carrier Teekey Tankers appears to have ended. The company has benefitted from an improved tanker market, landing a profit in the second quarter.

Canadian tanker operator Teekay Tankers has booked a net profit for the year’s second quarter after a long period with red bottom-line figures.

Net profit landed at USD 28.5m, according to an announcement by the company, which in the corresponding quarter last year saw a net loss of USD 129.1m.
