Purchase and sale of ice class tankers have more than doubled, and ship earnings have increased by an astounding 1,644 percent. Sanctions against Russia could be an explanation, according to VesselsValue.

Demand for tanker vessels that are able to advance through icy waters is currently at a very high level, writes VesselsValue in a recent market update, highlighting that trading with ice class aframax tankers has soared by 140 percent during 2022.
