Tanker scrapping is expected to increase again from 2024

2023 is likely to be the last year with extraordinarily few tanker scrappings, as new regulation will make demolition increase from next year, according to broker BRS.

Up to and including July, 187 new orders for tankers were placed, three quarters of which were for product tankers, and the number of orders has therefore already exceeded last year’s level, according to BRS.
