
It looks like several tanker carriers will have to arm themselves with patience. In any case the, Nigerian government does not look set to ease the ban that was introduced this summer, barring 102 tanker vessels from entering the oil-rich country's waters, reported several Nigerian maritime lawyers on Tuesday according to Platts.
In mid-July this year, state-owned Nigerian National Petroleum Corp. barred the 102 tanker vessels from entering the country's territorial waters to tank oil. The list of barred tanker vessels was distributed to the country's oil terminals at the order of president Muhammadu Buhari.
